This week in assembly our Year 2 students shared their most recent learning. They organised it in a polished performance spanning nearly 30 minutes, showcasing what they had learnt across all subjects. Space was the common platform for their study of addition and multiplication in mathematics, complex sentences in English, and humanities, where the children learnt about the inspiring figure of Mae Jemison, the NASA engineer and physicist who was the first African-American astronaut. The children shared their writing, research, and calculation strategies. And then, with their singing and acting, they reinforced their oracy skill.
