I have been delighted to see how many students are working to achieve their Bronze and Silver Reading Awards. This week, we even awarded two students in Year 4 their Gold Book Award, a remarkable achievement so early in the year.
One of the key benefits (and joys) of reading is how it expands a person's vocabulary. A broad vocabulary fosters precise and effective communication, orally and in writing, and makes that communication more compelling. It also aids improved understanding, allowing for a broader scaffolding of learning. It is vital in grasping complex concepts and engaging in higher-level thinking.
